Project Summary

The project SAFER-U (Strengthening the Aviation Frameworkand European Regulations for Ukraine) was launched by the European Commission in March 2019 to support the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine (SAAU).

SAFER-U project will focus on upgrading Ukraine’s aviation safety regulations in Air Operations (OPS) and Flight Crew Licencing (FCL) and will require all Ukrainian registered airlines, training organisations and flight crew to comply with the new standards.

The project must facilitate preparation for the implementation of the respective provisions stemming from the CAA Agreement between the EU and Ukraine, the Working Arrangement (WA) between the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine (SAAU) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The project is funded by the European Union with budget of EUR 2.5 million and it is set to last three years; from 2019 to 2022.
